LOCATION - Lat 39°18'40", long 120°34'49" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.25, T.17 N., R.12 E., Placer County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020128, in Tahoe National Forest, on outlet structure on Kelly Lake Dam on unnamed tributary to North Fork of North Fork American River, and 2.2 mi west of Cisco.
DRAINAGE AREA - 0.58 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1991 to current year. Unpublished records for water years 1965-91 available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 5,888.9 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by Pacific Gas and Electric Company). Prior to October 1991, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 2310.
REMARKS - Records not computed during the winter months. Reservoir is formed on natural lake by rock-fill dam completed in 1928. Contents based on capacity table dated December 1933. Usable capacity, 336 acre-ft, between gage heights 0.0 ft, invert of outlet, and 17.1 ft, top of flashboards. Water is used for power development downstream. Records represent usable contents at 2400 hours. See schematic diagram of Bear River Basin available from the California Water Science Center. No storage in water year 2023, drained for maintenance.
