LOCATION - Lat 26°20'23", long 81°46'41" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.35, T.47 S., R.25 E., Lee County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090204, at northwest corner of Felts Street and Childers Street in Bonita Springs.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 75 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 61 ft, bottom of last opening 75 ft. Artesian well, open hole 61 to 75 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 9.16 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of casing, 11.31 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Sep. 1, 1968 to Apr. 20, 2005; Top of shelf, 11.37 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Apr. 20, 2005 to May. 9, 2013; Top of flange, 10.63 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, May. 9, 2013 to present. See REMARKS.
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 1968 to June 1973 (daily), July 1974 to March 1992 (monthly), April 1992 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform. Prior to January 2015, Electronic data logger.
REMARKS - Well was also used for salinity and chloride monitoring, discontinued Sept. 2022. Records of water levels prior to October 1975 are in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. The station was damaged and reconstructed in April 2005 and April 2013. See DATUM.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level, 8.85 ft above NGVD29, Sept. 12, 2017; lowest, 8.21 ft below NGVD29, May 21, 2023.
