LOCATION - Lat 29°11'00", long 82°01'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.16, T.15 S., R.23 E., Marion County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03080102, on south side of Sharpes Ferry Road, 6.5 mi east of Ocala. Owner: U.S. Geological Survey.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 153 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening 124 ft, bottom of last opening 153 ft. Drilled, observation, artesian well, cased to 124 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 64.51 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of casing, cap top, 67.51 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Jan. 29, 1968 to Feb. 20, 2002; Top edge of casing, 67.31 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Apr. 10, 2002 to Oct. 1, 2011; Top edge of flange, 67.15 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Oct. 1, 2011 to present. Prior to Oct. 1, 2011, measuring point top edge of casing 2.80 ft above land-surface datum. Prior to Apr. 10, 2002, measuring point 3.00 ft above land surface datum. Prior to Oct. 1, 2011, datum of gage was considered to be -0.16 ft lower. See REMARKS.
