LOCATION - Lat 36°33'42.4", long 76°26'10.7" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Chesapeake City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 03010205, in Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 4.50 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening -0.8 ft, bottom of last opening 4.3 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 17.4 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: MP IS TOC, 0.0 ft above land-surface datum, May 19, 2009 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2009 to December 2017.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 30-minute record interval from October 2009 to September 2011. Prior to October 2009 and after September 2011 to November 2017, occasional measurement with chalked and electric tape by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Well is located in Columbia aquifer of Quaternary age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 0.71 ft below land-surface datum, Feb. 7, 2010; lowest recorded, 4.96 ft below land-surface datum, Aug. 21, 2011.
