LOCATION - Lat 38°55'20.0", long 104°53'03.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.15, T.13 S., R.67 W., El Paso County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020003, 0.6 mi northwest of intersection of Flying W Ranch Road and Wilson Road, 1.0 mi southwest of Vindicator Road bridge over Douglas Creek, and 7.1 mi northwest of courthouse in Colorado Springs.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 2011 to current year (seasonal records only).
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping-bucket rain gage with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is 7,099 ft above NAVD of 1988, from topographic map.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily precipitation, 4.65 inches, Sept. 12, 2013.
REMARKS - Gage operated seasonally, March through October. Unless otherwise noted, records are not rated, and periods of missing record are not estimated.
