LOCATION - Lat 40°19'21.4", long 89°28'21.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.29, T.22 N., R.3 W., Tazewell County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07130009, central gray-cased well in a cluster of three, 1 mi north of US 136 on Brownwood Road, about 1.5 mi northeast of Emden, and 0.5 mi south of Prairie Creek. Local names: MTH-17N, 22N3W-29.8a2, Owner: Illinois State Water Survey.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Land-surface datum was updated to 585.47 ft NAVD88 on Feb. 17, 2023, as determined by a GNSS Level II survey. Land-surface datum was previously published as 586 ft NGVD29 from topographic map. Discrete water-level measurements prior to Feb. 17, 2023, are referenced to the original datum.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 152 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 147 ft, bottom of last opening 152 ft. Well-casing includes schedule 40 PVC pipe, 7.75 in. diameter borehole with bentonite seal, observation well.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 585.47 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Top of PVC casing, south side, 2.95 ft above land-surface datum, Aug. 19, 1993 to Feb. 17, 2023; Top of PVC casing, south side, 2.755 ft above land-surface datum, Feb. 17, 2023 to present.
