07312109 Diversion Lake near Dundee, TX
LOCATION - Lat 33°48'54", long 98°56'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Archer County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 11130206, on top of dam at outlet gates, 5.4 mi north of Dundee, TX.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,164 mi². Drainage heavily regulated by Lake Kemp upstream.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Aug. 2008 to current year (daily mean elevation).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929 and 0.82 ft below NAVD 1988. Satellite telemeter at station.
COOPERATION - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Tulsa District, Wichita County Water Improvement District # 2.
REMARKS - The lake is formed by a rolled earthfill dam 7,000 ft. long. The original dam was completed in 1924. The service spillway (sluice gate type) is a gated concrete structure with 12 slide gates each 5 by 8.5 ft. The spillway is a concrete ogee structure 308 ft. long. Data regarding the dam are given in the following table:
