USGS 04066003 MENOMINEE RIVER BELOW PEMENE CREEK NR PEMBINE, WI

LOCATION.--Lat 45°34'46", long 87°47'13", in NE 1/4 sec.29, T.37 N., R.28 W., Menominee County MI , Hydrologic Unit 04030108, on left bank 40 ft. downstream from County Trunk Z bridge, 0.9 mi. downstream from Pemene Cr. 3.9 mi. west of Nathan, MI, 10.6 mi southeast of Pembine and at mile 64.3.

DRAINAGE AREA.--3,140 square miles.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1949 to present. Published as "near Pembine" (04066000) prior to August 1982. Monthly discharges for some periods published in WSP 1307.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 737.88 ft NAVD88, from GPS survey. Oct. 1949 to Oct. 27, 1972, water-stage recorder at site 1.0 mi upstream at elevation 745, from river profile map, and Oct. 28, 1972 to August 1982, water-stage recorder at site 1.5 mi upstream at elevation 770 from river profile map.

REMARKS.--Flow regulated by powerplants and by Michigamme Reservoir, capacity 119,950 acre-ft, and by Peavy Pond, capacity 33,860 acre-ft, on the Michigamme River and by smaller reservoirs upstream of gage. Gage-height telemeter at station.
