Although the instrumentation is calibrated at least once/year, the temporary classification means that documented routine inspections and other quality assurance measures are not performed that would make the data acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general scientific or interpretive studies.

LOCATION.--Lat 42°29'58.6", long 73°46'36.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Rensselaer County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 02020006, on left bank at Schodack Island State Park, 0.7 mi downstream of Castleton Bridge on State Highway 912M, 1.4 mi northeast of Schodack Landing, New York, and 1.8 mi upstream of Coeymans Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA.--8,594 mi².  
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD1.--WATER TEMPERATURE: April 2019 to current year.
SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: April 2019 to current year.
pH: April 2019 to current year.
DISSOLVED OXYGEN: April 2019 to current year.
TURBIDITY: May 2019 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION1.--A multi-parameter water-quality sonde measures water temperature, specific conductance, pH, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity at 15-minute intervals since April 2019.
COOPERATION1.--Maintained by the Hudson River Environmental Conditions Observing System in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD1.--WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 28.8 °C, Aug. 7, 8, 2022; minimum, -0.6 °C, on several days in winter 2021.
SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum, 482 uS/cm @ 25 °C, Mar. 5, 2021; minimum, 127 uS/cm @ 25 °C, Apr. 23, 2019.
pH: Maximum, 9.0, July 27, 2020; minimum, 7.4, on many days.
DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Maximum, 15.4 mg/L, Dec. 26, 27, 28, 2022, Feb. 6, 12, 2023; minimum, 4.5 mg/L, July 4, 2020.
TURBIDITY: Prior to July 28, 2022: Maximum, 640 FNU, Nov. 2, 2019; minimum, <0.3 FNU, on many days. [<, actual value is known to be less than the value shown] After Aug. 2, 2022: Maximum, 390 FNU, July 11, 2023; minimum, 1.0 FNU, Aug. 5, 2022, June, 2, 2023.
