STATION.--01518498 HAMMOND LAKE
LOCATION.--Lat 41`53'56", long 77`08'52`,
Tioga County, Hydrologic Unit 02050104, at Hammond Dam on Crooked
Creek, 3.0 mi upstream from mouth, and 0.8 mi southwest of Tioga.
DRAINAGE AREA.--122 square miles.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--November 1979 to current
year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers local project datum. Prior to water year 2007,
the datum was incorrectly reported as NGVD 1929.
REMARKS.--Reservoir is formed by rolled earth and
rockfill dam with concrete chute spillway with uncontrolled weir at
elevation 1,131.0 ft. Storage began in November 1979. Capacity at
elevation 1,131.0 ft is 63,000 acre-ft. Recreation lake elevation is
1,086.0 ft, capacity 8,850 acre-ft. Reservoir is used for flood control
and recreation. Flow is regulated by two gates through a connecting
channel that discharges into Tioga Lake, and a low-flow outlet to
Crooked Creek. Satellite and landline telemetry at station.
