Station gage imageSTATION.--01534300 LACKAWANNA RIVER NEAR FOREST CITY, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 41`40'47", long 75`28'20", Susquehanna County, Hydrologic Unit 02050107, on left bank 1,600 ft upstream from bridge on State Highway 171, 1.3 mi downstream from Stillwater Dam, 1.6 mi downstream from confluence of East and West Branches, and 2.2 mi north of Forest City.
DRAINAGE AREA.--38.8 square miles.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1958 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,551.28 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Prior to Dec. 11, 1958, non-recording gage at same site and datum. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION.--Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
GAGE HEIGHTS OF IMPORTANCE.-
Supplied by USGS: Maximum recordable gage height (stage sensor operational limit) - 17.4 ft; Data transmitter operational limit - 18.8 ft;
Supplied by NWS: No flood stage has been determined for this station.
This station managed by the PAWSC Williamsport Field Office.
