Station gage imageSTATION.--01559790 RAYSTOWN BRANCH JUNIATA RIVER AT WOLFSBURG, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 40`02'45", long 78`31'45", Bedford County, Hydrologic Unit 02050303, 150 ft upstream from single-span steel-girder bridge on U.S. Highway 30 at Wolfsburg, and 4.7 mi upstream from Dunning Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA.--132 square miles
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Water years 1989-90, 1996 to 2018, continuous-record annual-peak. October 2018 to current year, stage-only.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crst-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1072.37 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (from benchmark). Prior to September 24, 2024, the datum of gage was reported as 1,072.89 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite and landline telemetry at station.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
REMARKS.--Daily discharge not available. Occasional fluctuations can be seen as the result of releases from Shawnee Lake or activity from Bedford Municipal Pumping Station.
GAGE HEIGHTS OF IMPORTANCE.-
Supplied by USGS: Maximum recordable gage height (stage sensor operational limit) - 21.8 ft; Data transmitter operational limit - 22.8 ft;
Supplied by NWS: No flood stage has been determined for this station.
