LOCATION.--Lat 39°25'38.1", long 77°33'22.2", Frederick County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 02070008, 
   on right bank 300 ft downstream from bridge on State Highway 17, 1.3 mi south of Middletown,
   2.2 mi downstream from Little Catoctin Creek, and 14.8 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA.--66.9 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--August 1947 to current year.
REVISIONS HISTORY.--WSP 1432: 1947-48. WDR MD-DE-77-1: 1960(M), 1965(M), 1970(M), 1972(P), 1975(P).
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage and concrete control. Datum of gage is 376.25 ft above 
   North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS.--U.S. Geological Survey satellite data-collection platform at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 12,000 ft3/s, Oct. 9, 1976,
   gage height, 14.13 ft; minimum discharge, 0.0 ft3/s, no flow, Aug. 27 to Sep. 12, 1966.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Maryland Department of
   Transportation, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
