Click for larger image LOCATION.--Lat 39°05'18.2", long 76°59'22.5", Montgomery County, MD, Hydrologic Unit 02070010, on right bank, 1,000 ft downstream of Good Hope Road, 0.95 mi upstream of confluence with Paint Branch, and 1.1 mi southeast of Colesville.
DRAINAGE AREA.--1.04 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--November 2006 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 366.30 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REVISIONS HISTORY.--
  • WDR-US-2009: 2007-08(M).

  • The indirect discharges for Measurements 128S and 129S were revised due to a change in cross-sectional area and due to sensor malfunction that was identified after the measurements had been approved.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 458 ft³/s, Aug. 12, 2020, gage height, 4.55 ft; maximum gage height, 4.82 ft, Aug. 17, 2021; minimum discharge, 0.08 ft³/s, Aug. 21-28, 2008.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection.
