STATION.--03074998 MONONGAHELA RIVER AT LOCK AND DAM #4 (UPPER POOL) AT CHARLEROI, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 40`08'53", long 79`53'32", Westmoreland County, Hydrologic Unit 05020005,
DRAINAGE AREA.--5,213 square miles.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--August 2010 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Station maintained for stage readings only. Datum of gage is 733.90 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) (from benchmark). Prior to February 20, 2024, the datum of gage was reported as 734.5 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 or erroneously reported as 717.9 ft above NAVD88 depending on source. Satellite telemetry at site.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
This station managed by the PAWSC Pittsburgh Field Office.
