STATION.--03077000 YOUGHIOGHENY RIVER LAKE AT DAM NEAR
CONFLUENCE, PA.
LOCATION.--Lat 39`47'56", long
79`22'06", Somerset County, Hydrologic Unit 05020006, remote
control recorder at control house at dam, 1.2 mi upstream from
Confluence, Pa., since June 1951. Water-stage recorder and transmitter
at bridge on U.S. Highway 40, 500 ft upstream from Stuck Hollow Run,
0.6 mi upstream from Tub Run, 7.5 mi upstream from Youghiogheny River
Dam.
DRAINAGE AREA.--434 square miles.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and heated tipping bucket
precipitation gage. Elevation of gage is sea level.
REMARKS.--U.S. Army Corps of Engineers satellite
telemeter at station. As of March 27, 2010 the elevations for the
Youghiogheny River Lake are referenced to North American Vertical Datum
of 1988. Data retrieved from the database prior to March 27, 2010 were
referenced to National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929.
The 30-minute precipitation data for this station are
temporary and will only be displayed for 120 days. Time series
of 1-hour or cumulative daily values will NOT be available for
retrieval following the 120-day display period. Although the
instrumentation is calibrated at least once a year, the temporary
classification means that documented routine inspections and other
quality assurance measures are not performed that would make the
data acceptable for archival, retrieval, or future use in general
scientific or interpretive studies. |
