STATION.--03084800 THOMPSON RUN AT TURTLE CREEK, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 40`24'19", long 79`49'41", Hydrologic unit, 05020005, Allegheny County.
DRAINAGE AREA.--17.98 square miles
PERIOD OF RECORD.--May 2004 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Non-recording gage June 11, 1979 to Aug 15, 1981. Datum of gage is 729.8 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to January 8, 2024, the datum of gage was erroneously reported as 750 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
GAGE HEIGHTS OF IMPORTANCE.-
Supplied by NWS: Action stage-4.5 ft; Flood stage-6 ft; Moderate flood stage-9 ft; Major flood stage-11 ft.
This station managed by the PAWSC Pittsburgh Field Office.
