This site uses multiple sensors, and possibly sensor types, to
measure gage height. The final usable published data series is
presented as the Primary Sensor. The Secondary and Tertiary Sensors are
used to fill in for the Primary Sensor when the Primary Sensor is
either damaged or less accurate.
This site experiences a variable backwater condition from it's
proximity to the Brazos River. Discharge is computed using an
index-velocity rating beginning November 17th, 2020 and will be used to
compute discharge greater than 500 cfs. Discharge less than 500 cfs is
not computed due to equipment limitations related with less than 1.5
ft/s velocities. Periods of erratic or intermittent discharge typically
indicates low velocity and a backwater condition when the gage height
hydrograph is complete. Link to Index-Velocity Method Click Here for Link to Index-Velocity Method
